Snowflake Peerie Mittens - Mystery Knitalong

It's almost the end of August, nearly the end of summer in Canada, and that means it's almost time for my annual September Mystery Knitalong.

The Snowflake Peerie Mittens pattern is available for purchase for $2.50 Canadian. This is 50% off my usual pattern price (no coupon required), and after this MKAL ends the pattern will go back up to full price. Purchase the pattern at any time before the end of September and you will receive any clues released, prior to the purchase.

When you purchase this pattern, you will receive only the introduction. The remainder of the pattern will be released in six clues on September 1, 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 2024. When the new clues are released, you will receive a message with a download link to the updated pattern with the new clue or you will be able to update the pattern from your Ravelry library.

You can purchase via my designer store on Ravelry, or send me a message via the contact form on the right to purchase the pattern via email and Paypal.

If your are participating in this MKAL, please join in the discussion on the I Make Mittens board on Ravelry.

Here’s what I can tell you now …
The pattern is designed to be knit with fingering-weight yarn. The gauge is 9 stitches per inch. Instructions are written for a women’s small hand with medium and large in brackets. The pattern uses 64 (68, 72) stitches around the top of the hand. The thumb is a sore thumb, out the side of the mitten.

For those that participated the past couple of MKALs that I’ve designed, this pattern uses the same gauge, stitch count, and thumb style. So, if those patterns worked for you this one will too.

This design works great for just two colours, and it is just as great for more. The pattern will include charts for a two-colour version and a five-colour version.

Please do join in the fun. Post pictures of the yarns you are considering so we can all see the different possible colour combinations.

Harmonious Triangle Mittens

It's new pattern release time!

I'm pleased to share my Harmonious Triangles Mitten Pattern

This design was created as I was struggling to bring together two colours in a stranded-knitting design. While the colours appeared to have good contrast from each other, the contrast was lost in the actual knitting. After trying a few designs, a friend suggested that triangles would work well. That was all the push I needed to create an all over triangle design that brought two colours together in a pleasing manner.

Instructions are written for a woman’s small hand with medium and large in brackets. Additional instructions are included for those who want a shorter mitten. Mittens pictured were knit with the instructions for size medium.

Pattern is available in my Ravelry Designer page, or send me a message if you aren't on Ravelry.
