These mittens are inspired by the first snowfall of the year that often
comes in autumn, when the leaves have turned and their colours are still
brightly laying on the ground. The first dusting of snow is always a beautiful
sight as it sparkles down.
The pattern takes advantage of the subtle transitions of colour in Knit
Picks Chroma, colour-transitioning, fingering weight yarn, shown in
Vermont/Natural. This gives the mittens the effect of being knit with several
different colours of yarn, when in fact only two colours of yarn are required.
The pattern will also show off the snowflakes beautifully when knit
with two solid-colour yarns, using Knit Picks Palette in Clove Heather/White.
