The posts on this site have gone dark this past year. Not because I haven't knitting, but because I haven't been designing. I've been knitting constantly, and participating as a vendor is some very local craft shows. You can follow that journey on my Instagram.
But now we are in the final weeks of August which means it is time for me to release my annual mystery knitalong (MKAL) pattern, that I traditionally run in September. This is the first pattern that I've designed in a year. Far too long between designs!
This year's design is the Flowing Hearts Mittens. The pattern is available for purchase for $2.50 Canadian. This is 50% off my usual pattern price (no coupon required), and after this MKAL ends the pattern will go back up to full price. Purchase the pattern at any time before the end of September and you will receive any clues released, prior to the purchase.
When you purchase this pattern, you will receive only the introduction. The remainder of the pattern will be released in five clues on September 1, 6, 10, 13 and 19, 2025. When the new clues are released, you will receive a message with a download link to the updated pattern with the new clue or you will be able to update the pattern from your Ravelry library.
You can purchase via my designer store on Ravelry, or send me a message via the contact form on the right to purchase the pattern via email and Paypal.
I can’t tell you much as it is a mystery, but here’s
some information to get your thoughts started …
The pattern is designed to be knit with fingering-weight yarn. The gauge is 9
stitches per inch. Instructions are written for a women’s small hand with
medium and large in brackets. The pattern uses 64 (68, 72) stitches around the
top of the hand. The thumb is a sore thumb, out the side of the mitten.
For those that participated the past couple of
MKALs that I’ve designed, this pattern uses the same gauge, stitch count, and
thumb style. So, if those patterns worked for you this one will too.
This design uses just two colours. If you are
looking to use more colours, or trying to use up scraps from your stash, I
suggest picking yarns with a similar value that can be combined as stripes or a
fade for the main colour, and then choose one contrast colour that will stand
out against all of the main colour scraps.
